One of the biggest mistakes English learners in Vietnam make is spending months studying grammar rules before saying a single sentence out loud. Grammar is important, but speaking confidence comes from speaking — not from memorising tables.
Talk First, Perfect Later
From the very first lesson, I encourage my students to speak. Even broken sentences are fine. The goal early on is to get comfortable making sounds and forming simple ideas in English.
A typical first lesson might cover:
- Introducing yourself
- Saying where you are from
- Asking and answering "What do you do?"
Simple phrases, real conversations, zero theory.
Repeat What You Know
Rather than racing to learn new vocabulary every day, spend time repeating what you already know in different situations. The brain builds confidence through repetition, not volume.
Watch and Listen Every Day
Even 15 minutes of English content daily makes a huge difference. Good places to start:
- YouTube channels with subtitles
- Simple English podcasts
- English language films with Vietnamese subtitles
Work With a Native or Fluent Speaker
The fastest way to improve is through direct feedback. A teacher who listens carefully, corrects gently, and pushes you to speak more will help you progress in weeks — not years.
If you are ready to start, I offer 1-on-1 lessons designed for beginners. Book a lesson and we will take it step by step.
